The Evening Do

Posted on 07-Feb-09

Starting at 6.30pm the Evening Do will be taking place at Petrinske Terasy, the same as the afternoon Reception so you won't have to move. There will be a buffet, dancefloor and hopefully lots of fun and excitement.

We have put up a free bar for wine, and soft drinks. However the free booze is limited unfortunately - so once it's gone - it's gone and from that point onwards you will have to pay for your own drinks. The manager has just informed us that their credit card machine is not working at the moment and that there are no cash machines anywhere in the park.So please make sure you have enough cash on you. Drinks should only cost about half of what they would in the UK.

The party will finish at 1am at which point you may want to carry on. There are a couple of nice bars in Mala Strana that stay open late. Just roll yourselves down the hill, head over to the left and you should go far wrong:

St Nicholas Cafe & JJ Murphy's are net to each other. Directions HERE

Over the road is another bar called U Maleho Glena that's very nice too.

If you want to go clubbing then I'm afraid you're on your own there. We've no idea about night clubs in Prague! Too old now.

How to get to the ceremony on time

Posted on 07-Feb-09
Be there by 11:00am

Our original plan was to lay on a bus that would drive around Prague city centre picking you all up from your various hotels and apartments. As it happens it turns out that this is too much of a logistical problem so we've abandoned the idea unfortunately for you. Soz

Ben's last (planned) night of Bachelorhood (friday 2 May)

Posted on 07-Feb-09
mmmmmm lovely orange juice!

It's probably not a wise idea to go out the night before you get married especially if you're the groom. Actually  it's hard to imagine that a bride would be so foolish. The mind boggles at the infinite number of bad things that could happen to the poor boy on the eve of his nuptials. Ideally the altar-bound groom would be in bed by 9pm curled up with a mug of cocoa and pondering his future life of wedded bliss before getting a good night's sleep so that when he wakes up on the wedding morning he's fresh and full of life, ready to co-star in the biggest day of his life.

CONFIRMATION OF ACCEPTANCE

One of the first EMA - PRG Easyjet flights. Oh how they've improved (not!)

With there being quite a lot of you, the task of keeping track of who's actually coming and who isn't, along with details of when you're arriving and leaving, where you're staying etc. has got a little out of hand. So we would be most grateful if all of you could take the time to..

SEND CONFIRMATION

Thanks

An old-fashioned tram

Family

All family members will be picked up from their respective hotels between 10:45 and 11:15.

Friends

We originally planned to pick everyone up in a bus but it turned out to be too much of a logistical problem to solve so we have abandoned this plan. Please make sure that you book your taxis well in advance to arrive on time. See THIS article about how to get to the ceremony on time.

The Morning After the Night Before ... change of plan!

Posted on 07-Feb-09

Originally we were going to suggest going for Sunday Brunch but we just found out that our hotel does 'Breakfast in Bed'.....

...instead  we're now planning a meal at our favourite Brazilian restaurant (Brasilero) just off the old-town square.

According to Damian, Clive has booked somewhere for breakfast

Accommodation

This room is booked already!

We really hope that you have your accommodation sorted out already but we suspect that there may still be a few people who haven't. If you're one of them then there's still a chance you can get something fairly decent, however a lot of places are fully booked already and you may have to spend a little time on Google.

Click HERE to download the accommodation list document that we sent out a couple of months ago.

If you get stuck then please get in touch. Our phone numbers are:

Getting to and from Prague Centre from the Airport

Posted on 07-Feb-09
Prague has a very nice airport called Ruzyne

Prague city centre is about 10 miles from its airport so you really need to plan in advance how you get from the airport to your hotel / hostel / apartment or cardboard box under the Charles Bridge

This site, along with its custom-made content management system, is still being developed. It's been tested a little and appears to be working quite well but there's still the possibility that it may contain bugs or that pages may not load or display properly.

If you notice anything that looks like a bug in the site programming then please let me know so that it can be fixed.

Some Useful Czech Phrases

Posted on 07-Feb-09
some average czech words

One of the very few advantages of Prague being absolutely crammed full of tourists is that you're more likely to hear english being spoken that czech. However the Czechs are always very impressed when you make any attempt whatsoever to speak their crazy language. I've been in classes for three hours a week for eight months now and let me tell you, it's hard! Nevertheless, its worth learning a few phrases so you can at least raise a smile on the face of the the pleasantly-surprised waiter or waitress when you attempt to place your order in the local lingo.
